Migrating your podcast to Hubhopper is a very simple process. This will allow you to switch your podcast hosting platform without losing any of your previous listeners and distribution. Your listeners wouldn't even know the switch and can continue listening to their favorite podcast.
Podcast Migration Process Through Desktop
Step 1: Create account
Sign up and create an account on Hubhopper. Once you sign into your account dashboard, click on 'import your existing Podcast'.
Step 2: Transfer podcast files
Simply add your RSS and click on load. Our system will automatically migrate all your podcast files and information.
Click on 'Load RSS' so your podcast can start processing. This process should take 10-15 minutes (depending on amount of file transfer) .
If your podcast has more than 100 episodes, contact us at support@hubhopper.com
Step 3: Generate new RSS feed
Once your podcast has been processed, publish your podcast live on Hubhopper. This will generate your new podcast RSS feed.
Step 4: Request '301 Re-direct'
Take your new RSS feed to your previous hosting platform and request the platform for a '301 Redirect'. Most hosting platforms will have this feature in the distribution/advanced settings. All you have to do is add your new RSS feed and click on ‘Submit’.
You can also contact your previous hosting platform's support team to request for the redirection of your podcast RSS feed.
This will redirect your old RSS feed, wherever it is distributed, to your now new RSS feed. Building a connection between the two separate URLs. This way, you won't have to 'Resubmit' your podcast across the previously distributed platforms. Re-direction process takes about 2-3 hours to complete.
Once redirection is complete, you can continue updating and editing your podcast. The changes will reflect across your previously distributed podcast platforms! Your past podcast subscribers will continue to be subscribed to their favorite podcast.
Meaning your podcast will continue to get updated on your previously distributed platforms and you do not have to re-distribute there again.

Step 4: Request '301 Re-direct'
Now take your new Hubhopper RSS feed to your previous hosting platform and request the platform for a '301 Redirect'.
Most hosting platforms will have the Redirect feature in the distribution/advanced settings. All you have to do is add your new RSS feed and click on ‘Submit’.
This will redirect your old RSS feed, wherever it is distributed, to your now new RSS feed. This way, you won't have to 'Resubmit' your podcast across the previously distributed platforms.
Once redirection is complete, you can continue updating and editing your podcast. The changes will reflect across your previously distributed podcast platforms! Your past podcast subscribers will continue to be subscribed to their favorite podcast.
NOTE: If you have previously claimed your podcast on Apple Connect or Spotify for Podcasters, you will have to update your RSS on these platforms manually to complete the re-direct and avoid duplication. Read this article to know how to.
There you have it! Your podcast would now have been successfully migrated to Hubhopper and you can continue interacting with your audience through your previous podcast distribution network as well as continue expanding your distribution through Hubhopper.
We recommend you keep your previous podcast hosting platform account active for at least another 2-3 weeks. We recommend you export your past podcast analytics from your previous account if you can. This is because your previous podcast analytics will not reflect on your now new Hubhopper studio account.
