Video podcasts are becoming increasingly popular, and Spotify is a great platform to showcase them.
If you’re already hosting your podcast on a different platform and want to replace your audio episodes with video on Spotify, you can easily do so by following these steps:
1. Log Into Spotify for Podcasters
To begin, head to Spotify for Podcasters and log in with your account credentials. You’ll need access to the dashboard where your podcasts are managed.
2. Navigate to Your Podcast
If you manage multiple podcasts, find the specific one where you’d like to upload a video episode. Use the sidebar to locate your show or select All podcasts to view your options. Choose the correct podcast from the list.
3. Find the Episode to Replace
Once you’re in the podcast dashboard, identify the audio episode you wish to convert to video. Click on the three dots next to the episode’s title to open additional options.
4. Upload the Video
Select the option to Upload video. You will then be prompted to choose the video file from your device. Make sure the video file meets Spotify’s requirements (check for supported file formats and size limits). Once uploaded, the video will replace the audio version of the episode.
5. Review and Publish
After uploading, Spotify will process the video. This may take some time depending on the file size and length. Once it’s ready, you can review your episode and publish it as a video podcast on Spotify.
Important Considerations
- Hosting Platform: You do not need to move your hosting to Spotify for Podcasters to upload video episodes. Your current hosting provider can remain unchanged while you add video content to Spotify.
- Engagement: Adding video content can enhance engagement and reach, as many listeners enjoy watching podcasts. It's a great opportunity to diversify your content format and appeal to a broader audience.
