If you have recently deleted your Hubhopper podcast and its associated podcast RSS feed, you may notice that your podcast continues to appear on certain listening platforms. This can happen because some platforms cache podcast data, meaning they temporarily store information even after the original RSS feed has been deleted. Here's what you need to know and do to ensure your podcast is completely removed.
What Happens After Podcast/Account Deletion?
When you delete your Hubhopper account, the podcast RSS feed associated with it is permanently removed from our system. However, third-party platforms (such as Spotify, Apple Podcasts, or Amazon Music) may still display your podcast because they cache RSS feed data. This cached data allows platforms to showcase content temporarily, even if the source feed is no longer active.
What You Can Do to Speed Up Removal
If you want your podcast to be removed immediately from these platforms, you can follow these steps:
Contact the Platform's Support Team
Reach out to the support team of the respective listening platform where your podcast still appears. Provide them with the necessary details, including:
- Your podcast name.
- The deleted RSS feed URL.
- A request to remove the cached data or listing from their platform.
Verify Removal
After submitting your request, the platform should process it and remove the podcast listing from their system. Keep in mind that response times vary depending on the platform.
Rest Assured
Even if you don’t take immediate action, most platforms automatically detect when an RSS feed is inactive and will eventually remove the podcast listing on their own. However, this process can take some time.
