We understand the importance of analytics when it comes to growing your podcast. To power you with advanced analytics, Hubhopper Pro sets up a third party prefix for you so that you can get a more in-depth look at your audience.
Read on to learn more about Prefix URL and how to set yours up on Hubhopper!
What is a Prefix URL?
To put it simply, a Prefix URL is a trackable URL that's placed directly in the RSS Feed of your podcast. It allows third-party services, like Chartable, Podsights, and Podtrac, to track all download requests that come through your show's RSS Feed.
How to set it up in your Hubhopper dashboard?
All you have to do is navigate to your Analytics tab in your Hubhopper dashboard and choose the Podcast performance tab. Scroll down to the bottom of this page, and there you'll find the 'Add Tracking Prefix' section.
Here you can add only one Prefix, whether it's Chartable, Podsights, or Podtrac. Just add the link in the field and submit the same.
Where can I get the Prefix URL?
Chartable Prefix URL is unique for each podcaster, while Podsights and Podtrac use a fixed Prefix for all users. Here's how you can get your Prefix URL for each of them:
- Podsights uses pdst.fm/e/
- Podtrac uses dts.podtrac.com/redirect.mp3/
Check out these help articles from Podsights and Podtrac for more information.
- Chartable, on the other hand, supplies a unique URL for each podcaster.
Check out Chartable's help article for more information on finding your Prefix URL.
